This coffee was cultivated in the Huila region of Colombia, an area renowned for its volcanic soils, high elevations, and rich biodiversity that shape some of the country’s most celebrated coffees. Gigantes comes from smallholder producers working between 1,600–2,000 meters above sea level, where the cooler climate and slower cherry maturation allow for exceptional complexity in the cup.
The cherries undergo a careful washed process, beginning with selective handpicking and followed by fermentation to develop clarity and sweetness. After fermentation, the coffee is washed clean and dried under controlled conditions until ideal moisture content is achieved.
Gigantes showcases the hallmarks of Huila terroir—bright, elegant acidity balanced with layered sweetness. Expect a cup that is vibrant yet approachable, with notes of ripe stone fruit, panela, and a lingering cocoa finish. This lot exemplifies why Huila continues to be recognized as one of Colombia’s premier coffee-growing regions.
